Hi friends! It has been a while since I've posted here, and that is because life has been so overwhelmingly busy that I have put my glass work on the back burner while I was fully engaged in other areas of my life. So here's a recap to catch y'all up with what has been going on with me!
First, we finished the major renovation of Wildwood (aka: the Haithcock house). We wrapped everything up and moved in mid-April. It has been such a blessing to have this beautiful home and all the land that comes with it. I am planning on slowly releasing all of our progress videos shortly, so y'all can keep up with all that we've been working on. Our first video can be found here.
About two weeks after we moved in, we hosted my sister and her now-husband Asa's wedding! Katie and Asa were married at the tail-end of Blackberry Winter under a blue-sky blanket with grass beneath their bare feet and it was such a beautiful day for a precious and eternal union. Thankfully, we had a lot of help to pull everything off, and I am so grateful for our family, both old and new members, for helping us give Katie and Asa the kind of ceremony they hoped for. It was a blessing to have the land and space to do it, and I have always wanted to be able to give someone that kind of gift. Someone asked us if this was a Weeks family tradition and if we had past generations and their weddings here. He looked so shocked when we told him we had just moved in two weeks before! I thought it was such a compliment to think they thought we'd been hosting weddings for years!
Our little Jubilee turned 3 mid-April! She is attending what I jokingly refer to as a "hippie" school where they have class outside and are focusing on exploring the world around them. Right now, it is just once a week and I spend it with her there, but it has been a fun experience for both of us. She has started singing with our family band on occasion, and I won't lie, my heart wants to bust every time just watching her have fun doing something I've loved to do my whole life. Being her mama is the honor of my life, even when life gets hard. Jared and I have both been working hard to get our old house up for sale and right now we are under contract!! Between his work, the wedding, the old house, and the trials and tribulations (and fun!) of having a 3 year old, this season of life has been absolutely brimming with more to do than we thought was possible, which is why I stepped back from glass work for a while. But it seems as if that chapter is ending, and a new glass-filled chapter can begin! I will be officially back in business in 2 weeks, so if you have any projects you'd like me to start working on, please let me know! You can contact me here through the comments, through my contact page, or via facebook on the Reflecting Light Stained Glass page.
I am so excited to get back to work bringing your ideas to fruition!
